Cookie Bribes Work

As I looked through possible pictures to hang in our new home I realized that I needed to get some updated pictures of the older boys. Believe it or not I have not been as good at taking pictures as I used to be - though I probably still take more than normal! I have only scrapbooked 3 times in the year and a half since I've lived here. Hard to believe considering my previous life. Maybe I will scrapbook these pages of the boys after I ask for a day off for Mother's Day! I bribed them with chocolate chip cookies to ensure that there were smiles involved and that they let me take more than three.

Easter Sunday

It's hard to get a good picture of four boys!

The Congregation

In all honest this Easter was a little 'weird' for us. We did not have a church to go to or other believers to celebrate with. We celebrated as a family, singing together, reading the resurrection story, and listening to a sermon. Though it may not have felt normal or familiar I am grateful that no matter where we are the reason we celebrate is always the same.

Determination

Last Saturday Caleb taught himself how to ride his bike. Although he is almost 8 we have never lived in a place with a safe place for him to learn and ride. Moving to our new home provided him with that opportunity. There is a shared space between the complexes that gave him the space he needed. It also provided him with some motivation - a girl riding without training wheels. I don't think that he could stand seeing someone about his age doing something he couldn't. He seriously spent all day Saturday outside and at the day he was proud of what he had accomplished.
